28th May falls in the 5th week of the month and we have our 3rd meeting of the month.

It is about 6.30 pm, members of Money Mastery-KL Toastmasters are already streaming for club meeting #276. It was an exciting time with eager voices sharing various topics of interest. Well to add to the atmosphere was some refreshments to fill the stomach, just before we start the meeting. We had the “nasi lemak”, curry puff and “satay’ on the table to feast on.

It was 7pm and all had assembled in the meeting room. With the sound of the hammer, Assistant Sergeant at Arms CP Lau, CC; called the meeting was called to order. He reminded on the house rules and led all in the toastmasters promise.

The meeting was then handed over to the President Ken Chan ACG, ALB to officiate the meeting. The president welcomed all and on his invitation the grammarian CP Lau CC introduced the Word of the Day, “Jubilate” meaning express great joy, rejoice or celebrate. He also announced the theme “harvesting for the future” and asks all members to introduce themselves. As the members introduced themselves they used the word of the Day and the theme of the day.

The meeting was than handed over to the Toastmaster of the Evening (TME) Mathew Philippose CC. He mentioned some brief changes in the agenda and led the session recalling the history with the members participating in quiz. He then invited the role-players to explain their roles. Next came the interesting session Table Topics. This session was led by EK Yeo CC, CL. There were a total of 5 participants aho were given various topics centered on the word “Jubilate”.

This was followed by Ken Chan ACG, ALB with his speech title “Taken”. Ken Chan’s speech was from the Advanced Communication Manual on Communicating Change.

As the speeches came to a close the Toastmaster of the Evening adjourned the meeting for a 10 minute break. This was a time to refresh and enjoy the food which was available in abundance.  The time passed so fast and all were back in the room as the Sgt of Arms CP Lau took control and handed it back to Toastmaster of the Evening who invited the General Evaluator (GE) Francis Ng DTM to preside over the evaluation session. He called on the evaluators EK Yeo CC, CL; Haji Hashim Adnan CC, CL; and Victor Wan ACB, ALB to present their evaluations.  Each evaluator gave much invaluable knowledge in speech presentations to the group present through their evaluations. He being in charge of the Ah Counter added his report with the speech crutches made during the meeting.
