Francis Ng, DTM made Honorary Adviser

DTM Francis Ng
8th July, 2008

At our first meeting (#152) for this term held at the Shah's Village Hotel in PJ, our "TOP CAT" none other than DTM Francis Ng was honoured by the President Hj Hashim Adnan, CC, CL by appointing him as our Honorary Adviser to the Club. This is a much deserved appointment. Francis, right from the first year of formation of the Club on 22nd July, 2002, almost single handedly, built the Club to what it is today. The Club achieved Distinguished Club award in the first year of its charter and from second year until the present it has been a President's Distinguished Club, the highest award given by Toastmasters International. I can safely declare that the major part for this is due to the passion, devotion, dedication and selfless service given by Francis to the club and its members. A million thanks, congratulations, and kudos to you Francis. Please keep up the good work.

So members please don't be surprise to see a new post of Honorary Adviser, Francis Ng appearing in the left column of our agenda for the Club's meeting #153.
To the President Hj Hashim Adnan, we thank you for that wise decision and you can be rest assured of our whole hearted support and confidence.

JOINT INSTALLATION NITE (5/7/08)

FOR THE RECORD OF EVENTS FOR THIS TERM: 1ST JULY 2008 TO 30TH JUNE 2009

Our club officers taking the oath of office.
5th July, 2008
We started off with the joint installation nite with KL Advanced TMC held at the Royal Commonwealth Society at No. 4 Jalan Birah, Damansara Heights, KL.
It was a fun filled dinner party where more than 50 people attended. Our club were represented by some 30 members with a few of us accompanied by spouses and children. The Master of Ceremonies was conducted by none other than our Nini Yeoh, CC, CL who was also the Organising Chairman for the evening. A job well done. So kudos to Nini.
We were entertained by Bill Sim, ACG, CL from KL Advanced with his repertoire of songs, of various languages from Maori, Filipino, Spanish, Thai etc. He was indeed a talented and versatile singer cum musician. Bravo Bill!
All our Exco members elect from President to Sgt At Arms with the exception of the Secretary, TM Gean Lau (who was in Singapore on duty) were officially installed to their various posts by the Area W1 governor Satchit Anantha Krishnan CC, CL.
At the beginning of the program Immediate Past Division W Governor, Azmi Shahrin, DTM proposed a toast to the Yang Di Pertuan Agong and Toastmasters International and to my pleasant surprised he also proposed a toast in my honour as the Chartered President of the club. I was indeed elated. It is a tradition in Toastmasters to proposed a toast to the Charter President of the Club at the Installation event.
We were then entertained by Rohijas, ACG, CL from KL Advanced with the game of Charade where everybody took part. Our very own Teoh Poh Yew entertained us with her magics and taught us a few tricks using magic to solve mathematical problems. Well done Poh Yew.
The night ended with smiles and happiness on everyone's face.

P.s. Secretary TM Gean Lau was officially installed by our President at our first meeting on 8th of July, 2008 at the Shah Village Hotel, PJ. Congratulations to Gean.

8th July 2008 was an auspicious day. This was the day of the club's first meeting for the new term of 2008-2009. It also signifies the change of guard for the leadership of the club.

As a veteran trainer & speaker, he has spiced up the whole evening meeting with humor and making the meeting more interesting and lively.

As we have a guest, the TME explained the history of Toastmasters to the audience.

We also have an inspiring night with EK Yeoh, CC, CL during Invocation session.

The Table Topics session was conducted by Francis Ng, DTM. He brought out an inspirational quotation book and asked the speakers to give a speech on the quotation given.
