Money Mastery-KL Toastmasters Club (#8141): 17th Anniversary & Installation Night 2019/2020

The stage was set. The red gorgeous carpet was ready to welcome flow of celebrities to witness the installation ceremony of the new Club Officers of Money Mastery KL Club in a Hollywood night themed event. The venue was Will You Cafe in Oasis Damansara on the 14th day of July 2019.

It was also the 17th Anniversary of MMKL. The Organizing committee was early to the venue to make the arrangements. The red carpet was laid down to welcome the celebrities which lead them to a photo booth with props on the side. Photographer of the event, Shain Anand, was ready to capture those celebrities in his frame. Toastmaster and non-toastmaster celebrities started to arrive by 5:30 PM. They walked their stylish walk on the red carpet and gave their stylish pose on the photo-booth. Then they signed their Hall of Fame star which was put on the wall.

By 6:30 PM, the curtains were raised with the anchor of the night, DTM CP Lau, standing tall in his suit. He gave everyone the warmest welcome and handed over the stage to Organizing Chair Chitira’s to address the celebrities. This was followed by the Invocation speech by our vibrant member Mathew Philippose who uplifted the mood of the attendees by his powerful speech.

Up next was the address by District 102 Director, DTM Dr. Yvonne Leong,who congratulated the EXCO for their installation and wished them the best to take the club, area and district to the next level.

Then, it was the time for one of the club founders KC See, CEO of Questcorp Global on the stage. He took us through the early days of MMKL and how he chartered the club and how the club has evolved over the years. It is always good to know the history of the organization or the club you are a member of, because history teaches us a lot and we should learn from them.

Up next was time for dinner break. Various delicacies involving non-vegetarian items were served to all the celebrities. Everyone enjoyed the meal.

Right after the dinner, we went to the main event of the night, installation of the club Exco members. Division C Director, Joshua Chan, ACS, ALB was the Installation officer. First, he discharged the EXCO of the previous term from their duties and started installation of new club officers starting from Sergeant- at- arm to President.

After the installation, the stage was handed over to the new President of MMKL KL Loh, ATMG, for his first presidential address. He started by paying tribute to the club mentors Lakmichand DTM, Geoff Andrew, DTM and the club sponsor KC See. He promised to keep the club’s President Distinguished status. He also shared about the challenges the club is facing and enlightened the guests about the vision this term. The speech was such an awe-inspiring one that no one present there could resist themselves for giving a standing ovation for Mr. President’s speech.

Up next, it was time for some fun. Our game master Jocelyn arranged 2 games for the celebrities, one was an Ice-breaker game and the other was a teamwork game. Both the games were excellent and everyone enjoyed it.

The, our club veteran Ken Chan DTM was handed over the stage for his speech session where he entertained the audience with his personal story that was full of humor element. After listening to him, I am sure our guest would love him very much.
