The Installation of Club EXCO 2015/2016

The installation of 15^th EXCO of Money Mastery-KL Toastmasters (MM-KL) club was held on Saturday 13^th of June 2015. It was held at very exceptional venue. Truly the place can be said to give anyone the top of the world experience. The place itself was called The Main Place and interesting name for a building which houses a mall and condominiums.  It was at the Penthouse of this building the installation of the 13^th EXCO of the MM-KL Toastmasters club is going to take place. This was made possible by one of our members Kelvin Chong, CC who sponsored us to use the place.

 

A view from this place was breath taking. One could have a bird’s eye view of the whole capital city.

Kevin Khoo, CC and his team comprising of Ji Sheng, Kimberly (Ji Sheng’s sister), Wendy and Serena had been making all the preparations for this grand day. In fact they had been there from the early hours of the noon. 

 

All those who came were ushered to an open space which was adjacent to this Penthouse.

As the clock struck 6.30pm we saw members and guest streaming in. The Past Presidents Ben Hoe and CP Lau and Victor Wan were also present.

In a few moments all were ready to see the grand ceremony of the ushering in of a new team to lead Money mastery-KL Toastmasters to another height.  It was bright sky with dark shadows glooming around. The brave front that the toastmasters put forward soon drove away the dark clouds to the cool breeze. Then, darkness set in at about 7pm. One could see the lights of the town lighted up like stars in the sky but it was illuminating all around the valley of this Penthouse.

 

As the clock ticked the organiser of the event Kevin Khoo, CC welcomed the guest and the Toastmaster of the evening (TME) Ken Chan, DTM took over the command of the meeting. 

 

Lakhmichand, DTM reminded us on the formation of the club

With his humorous gestures he handed over the meeting to the officiating Officer for the day Lakhmichand, DTM,(also known as Lucky, DTM). Lucky, DTM very professionally got the outgoing EXCO to stand in a row at one extreme end was the President Serena Kong, ACB and followed by the rest of the EXCO. As the EXCO 2014/2015 was relieved of their duties for the ending term, the new EXCO was called in. It are sight to behold, as the line-up of the outgoing EXCO and incoming EXCO took their places in their full suite commemorating the grand event.

Lucky DTM lead each EXCO member starting from SAA to a swearing in ceremony. 

Each member of the EXCO pledge their commitments to lead the club in various aspects they were sworn in.

Great View, Sweet Moment & Brand New EXCO Team

It was a proud moment with distinguished guests and club members present at the meeting. Division G Governor Tuan Haji Hashim, Area G4 Governor Jacy Wee and In coming Division C Director Selina Chong, DTM, incoming Division C Area Director Micheal Wong, ACB, CL, were present. Other special guests were Geoff Andrews, DTM who was one of the key persons in the club charter along with incoming Assistant Division Program Quality Director, Dr. Steven Khaw, CC, CL and incoming Area T2 Director, Dr Thilla, ACS, ALB.

As soon as the installation was over everyone adjourned to a sumptuous steamboat dinner. Among other things were noodles and fried rice with satay and fruits. Everyone was busy enjoying the food to their satisfactions, with much noise of chattering, under the cool clear sky. 

 

As all were feeling satisfied with a good meal the TME drew the attention of everyone to the next part of the program. TME passed the time over to the organising chair Kevin Khoo, CC, who got Ron Yeap and his team of Wendy Sim and Tracy to a number of games that put all in excitement and laughter.

It was the award presentation ceremony.Organising Chair, Kevin Khoo gave his appreciation to his team.

The grand event ended with the cake cutting ceremony of the birthday of Tn. Haji Hashim who had turned 70. All sang and celebrated together with him a memorable birthday. The meeting soon dispersed with much joy and contentment.

Congratulations to Ken, double championship!

As we are now under Division C, Area C1, we will only have 1 representative to represent our club to Area Contests. Kelvin Chong & Ron, both you will be placed as our club standby if Ken can't make it on 27 September 2015, Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC). AD Michael Wong will advice the contests time in the near future. Let's mark down 27 September and give our support to our club representative Ken in Area Contests.
